The Wizards have been a pleasant surprise this season and beat the Mavericks at home 102-84. Washington seems to have come to play against the best teams, they beat the Celtics two times and now have swept the Mavericks (in regular season play). The game was pretty close in the first half, but the Wizards were too hot to handle. DeShawn Stevenson made some incredible three pointers and finished 2-3 from downtown. The Mavericks were also a little careless with the ball, a direct result of the activity of Caron Butler and they let the Wizards score fast break points off of those turnovers.

Butler deserves some type of award for his great play so far this season. I wouldn't go as far as most improved play of the year, but he's pretty close to it. The Wiz are also doing great right now. This is the first time they are five games over .500 and they should be proud.

Dallas could have stayed close, had they figured out Butler defensively. His tactic seems to be surprising you from behind for a steal and then driving down low for a layup. The Mavs players have got to take a look at the scouting report. It should say: watch out for Butler on offense, he gets a couple steals per game. Once they realize that, maybe they won't be swept by this team.
