The Suns came back and beat the Lakers 95-87 to take a 1-0 series lead. I like the Suns' late game defense. It helped their offense by getting and stopping KB24. And bench play was terrific for the Suns: Barbosa finished with 26 (tied a career playoff high he set against the Lakers in last year's playoffs). The Lakers came out with a great plan, the whole team played solid ball, but then the team fell off and it was Kobe by himself and he lost his spark in the second half.

Lamar Odom had a huge game with 17 points and 16 boards. I love that Odom came out strong but he has to continue that for 48 minutes. Luke Walton did it all, also with 10 points 6 boards and assists. I expect an all around game from Luke. Once he gets confidence in his shot like he had in their series last year the Lakers have a much better chance.

The Suns have to keep their heads up in game 2. If the Suns came out strong offensively and Kobe is not hot, I like the Suns to win. The Lakers have a chance to win if role players do their thing and someone else besides Kobe can step up.

In other news the Cavs beat the Wizards 97-82 to take a 1-0 series lead. I like the play from the Wizards even though they lost. The Cavs have to come out stronger in the next game because the Wizards have confidence. Stay with Basketball Notes by Alex for more playoff coverage.
