ROOKIE CHALLENGE NO PROBLEM FOR SOPHOMORES!

The first of the All Star weekend festivites kicked off with the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam, a blowout for the Sophomores 155-114. MVP went to David Lee of the Knicks. He got the award for dunking about 90% of his shots and making two free throws, which in my opinion, overlooked the overall play of Chris Paul. I know the NBA is about trying to bring back the run and gun game and usually awards scoring instead of the little things, but Paul had 12 assists in the first half alone.

On the Rookie side, I think the best player was Rudy Gay or maybe Milsap because he stopped some of the bleeding and had some nice plays under the basket.

This game is all about putting on a show. I think the Sophomores wanted to come out and crush the hopes of young ones. The Rookies were just looking in the crowd and smiling because they were at All Star weekend and totally forgot to get back on defense.

If you care, the All Star Celebrity game was won by the West 40-21. This is a high scoring margin for this game! Not really, but Tony Potts, co-anchor of Access Hollywood won MVP because he can shoot. Go to www.nba.com for extra cool videos and information on the game.
NOW IT'S TIME FOR ALL STAR SATURDAY!
