GERMANY GETS BLOWNOUT BY USA 85-65!
Team USA dominated over Dirk Nowitzki and Germany 85-65 to move on to play Greece. Carmelo Anthony got 19 points and 4 boards in 24 minutes. Melo was great. He was all over the floor like he always is. LeBron James got 13 points and 5 boards in 25 minutes. Bron Bron was alright. He won; be a huge impact because Carmelo has been in the spotlight in FIBA. Joe Johnson got 11 points and 3 boards in 21 minutes. Johnson has been good latley. After not getting many minutes he has been getting some good minutes, in the last few games. Chris Paul got 9 points and steals in 23 minutes. He hasn't been a huge factor by scoring, but his passing and steals are key. Ademola Okulaja got 15 points and 9 boards in 29 minutes. Okulaja was great. He showed an all around game on offense and defense. Dirk Nowitzki got 15 points and 9 boards in 33 minutes. Dirk played well. But he and Okulaja were the only players in double figures. On a non basketball story I want everyone in Florida to stay safe from Ernesto today.

DON NELSON TO COACH WARRIORS! After the Warriors bought out the contract of Mike Montgomery, Don Nelson should be named the new Head Coach this week. I like this move. The Warriors are trying to get to the playoffs. Maybe running more is what they need. I wish Mike well in the future, and hope the Warriors do well under Nelson. GO WARRIORS!
SPAIN BEATS LITHUANIA 89-67! Pau Gasol and Spain beat Lithuania 89-67 in the semifinals. Pau had 25 points and 9 boards. Gasol was great he should lead Spain far. Lithuania had 28 turnovers and that's why they lost. GO SPAIN!

USA BEATS AUSTRALIA 113-73 AND GERMANY WINS TO FACE THEM NEXT!
The USA pulled out another blowout victory over Australia 113-73. This will probably be the last big blowout team USA will get. The 2nd period really blow the game open. The USA held Australia to 6 points while scoring 36 of their own. Carmelo Anthony got 20 points and 4 boards in 22 minutes. Anthony was great. He didn't even play much and he had a big game. Joe Johnson came off the bench for 18 points and 2 steals in 17 minutes. Johnson came off the bench ready to play. His shooting was on the mark and he had a wonderful game. Dwyane Wade got 15 points and 4 assists in 19 minutes. Good to see Wade try hard to get the ball to his team. Like the rest of the big three they should be rested for the game against Dirk and Germany. Chris Bosh got 12 points and 9 boards in 18 minutes. Bosh didn't have a big scoring impact on the game this time. All that matters for hi right now is that he's getting minutes. I am also glad to see him out there. Shane Battier got 12 points and 1 block in 12 minutes. Battier was one of 5 players in double figures for the USA. Three of those players came off the bench. Andrew Bogut got 20 points and 6 boards in 26 minutes. Bogut played a good game. He kept them close in 1st, but he couldn't beat them single handed. Brad Newley got 15 points and 2 boards in 23 minutes. Newly was the only one out their hitting jumpers. Newly and Bogut were the only players in double figure for Australia.

USA BEATS SENEGAL 103-58 TO GO 5-0 IN GROUP D!
The USA beat Senegal 103-58 to win and move to the sweet 16 of FIBA Worlds. Chris Bosh got 20 points and 10 boards in 21 minutes. Bosh was great. He is a member of the draft class in 2001 that is being shown to the world in this tournament. LeBron James got 17 points and 4 assists in 18 minutes. Bron played well. He had sub par scoring games before this but played wonderful in this game. Joe Johnson got 11 points and 3 assists in 29 minutes. Johnson is always on the ball it seems. I expect him to really be apart of these harder games coming up for team USA. Carmelo Anthony had 12 points and 2 assists in 14 minutes. Melo wasn't as HOT this game. But most of the players on the team are stars and have to get used to not being the first option all the time.

USA BEATS ITALY 94-85!
Team USA beat Italy 94-85 in the most competitive game so far in FIBA. Melo exploded in the 2nd half with 29 of his 35 points. Melo and Flash combined for 30 in 3rd period alone! You could definitely see that the USA had more trouble in this game. Dwyane Wade had 26 points and 4 boards in 23 minutes. Flash was really focused in the 3rd and drove it to the hole a lot. Elton Brand got 16 points and 5 boards in 28 minutes. LeBron James got 8 points and 3 boards in 25 minutes. Bron Bron was cold this game like most of team USA which had only 3 players in double figures. Chris Paul got 5 points and 6 assists in 30 minutes. Paul was once again great in passing the ball out to his other USA players. Marco Belinelli had 25 points and 1 rebound in 28 minutes for Italy. Belinelli is a young prospect and great player for Italy. Stefano Mancinelli got 12 points and 2 steals in 16 minutes. Mancinelli played well. They couldn't couldn't run so they'll have to practice there game in the half court. The USA has now clinched 1st place in group D. They will next play Senegal at 6:30 am ET on ESPN2.

HARINGTON TO PACERS!
Al Harrington was traded to the Indiana Pacers along with John Edwards for a first a first round draft pick. Harrington was dealt in a sign and trade deal that pays him $34 million dollar deal. This deal is good. Harrington really adds help to the Pacers. It is about time this deal is done. The Hawks get some nice cap space for this season and the off season.
GO PACERS!

USA BEATS SLOVENIA 114-95! The USA are 3-0 after defeating Slovenia 114-95. This is good for the USA to dominate there group and easily move on. Dwayne Wade had 20 points and 3 assists in 19 minutes. Wade was great. He has really been on the ball the last 2 games. LeBron James got 19 points and 3 assists in 21 minutes. Bron Bron should be happy, he doesn't have to do much and his team is still dominating! Elton Brand got 13 points and 1 block in 13 minutes. Brand was good. He finally got to have a big impact on the games this time. Carmelo Anthony got 14 points and 3 steals in 21 minutes. Melo was terrific. He always hits his jumpers and takes hard into the paint. Chris Paul got 9 points and 9 assists in 21 minutes. Paul played well. He always distributes the ball and is a true point guard. Sani Becirovic got 18 points and 3 steals in 25 minutes for Slovenia. Becirovic played well. ARE YOU READY FOR USA ITALY?

USA BEATS CHINA 121-90!
The USA fought of Yao Ming and China to win 121-90 in their second FIBA game. Wade led the USA with 26 points. Like I said one of the big three of Bron Bron, Melo and Wade will have an okay game and it was Wade last time, but not this time! Watching this game you see the unselfish play the Coach K had implemented to them. Carmelo Anthony got 16 points along with Dwight Howard. Melo and Howard have played great. Melo hits the jumpers from the outside and Howard scoops up offensive boards on long rebounds. Yao Ming played well. He had 21 points and 10 boards but got 5 fouls and fouled out. He got into it with the officials a little to much. He doesn't look 100% but he looks good. Next up for the United States is Slovenia on Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. ET on ESPN2 Watch it! More stats and thoughts coming soon.

USA BEATS PUERTO RICO 111-100 IN FIRST FIBA GAME!
The USA team came out fired up and ready to dismantle Puerto Rico and won 111-100. They were lead by Carmelo Anthony who had 21 points and 3 assists in 20 minutes of play. Melo has always brought energy. He and LJ are the facilitators of this squad. Chris Paul had 11 points and 9 assists in 32 minutes. Paul will give the USA team another great play maker to lead them. Paul can do a little bit of everything, score and get his team involved. Bron Bron got 15 points and 6 assists in 24 minutes. LJ did a great job in this game. He got some assists which is key so the entire team will pass also. Dwight Howard got 10 points and 7 boards for the USA in 18 minutes. Howard worked hard out there and he stands tough off the bench during FIBA. Kirk Hinrich got 15 points and 3 boards in 17 minutes off the bench. It's a big factor when Chris Paul can take a break and Hinrich can come in and keep the same pace. Dwayne Wade got 13 points and 2 boards in 23 minutes. Wade chipped in well. One of the big three of LJ, Melo and Flash won't have a big game, and this time it was Wade.
Carlos Arroyo led Puerto Rico with 23 points and 5 assists in 26 minutes. Arroyo played big in the last game against the USA but his team wasn't there to help him both times. Elias Ayuso got 14 points and 3 assists in 22 minutes. Ayuso played well. But he was only one of three players in double figures for Puerto Rico. They need more help. Christian Dalmau got 13 points and 1 assist in 18 minutes. Dalmau played well. But if Puerto Rico wants to win someone has to tell the other players to give them some help out there! The next game for the USA is China on Sunday at 6:30 a.m. ET on ESPN2 watch it!

USA BEATS LITHUANIA!
Team USA stayed undefeted in FIBA exhibitions as they beat Lithuania 111-88. DWade had a terrific game with 14 points. Wade sets the tone with his dunks and hard defense. LJ got 13 points for the USA. Bron did well. He will lead this team through FIBA.

USA TEAM SLIDES BY BRAZIL!
The USA team beat Brazil 90-86 in the first down to the wire game they had. Kirk Hinrich had 14 points for the USA. Hinrich has been one of those key members of the bench for the USA. Joe Johnson got 12 points and made one in the crunch time for the US. Johnson is always one that will be in at the end of the game as last season hit a few buzzer beaters for the Hawks. LJ got 12 points also for the US. Bron has been key and will be key all of FIBA. Leandro Barbosa got 14 points for the Brazil attack. Barbosa will lead this team along with Anderson Varejao to be fast paced like the Suns. Brazil went on a 16-0 run at one point but it wasn't enough to win them the game.

USA TEAM BEATS CHINA!
The USA team beat the China national team 119-73 in an exhibition game. This is not a big deal because China didn't have the injured Yao Ming. LJ led the fast paced USA attack with 22 points. Bron Bron played well and his defense is key. Melo added 18 points for the USA. Melo came off the bench and right away hit jumpers. China was down early in the 1st, they came back and were down 5 after 1. Then at halftime the USA team pulled away for the rest of the game.

USA WINS 114-69 IN EXHIBITION OVER PUERTO RICO!
The game may not have counted but Dwayne Wade, LeBron James and company dazzled the crowd in Las Vegas with fast breaks, dunks and a few big blocks. Coach K's philosophy hit the team in a good way and I saw more effort on defense by the entire team. They were lead by Carmelo Anthony with 18 points and one for the highlights, a big dunk! He is the one that Coach K really shines on. He helped him increase his intensity and ferocious defense. Antawn Jamison was blazing off the bench with 16 points. Jamison is just one of the many threats on the US bench. It only makes the decision to cut a few more players harder for Coach K. Dwyane Wade put on a dunk contest and added 14 points. Wade was the offense attack for the US in the second half. LJ and Joe Johnson contributed with 10 points each. LeBron and all of the stars on the team won't get big minutes. The next game for the USA is Monday but it still won't count but it will be against Yao Ming and China.
GO USA!!
STEVENSON TO WIZ FOR LEAGUE MINIMUM!
Deshawn Stevenson has signed with the Washington Wizards for the league minimum. So much for money as Stevenson could have had a 3 year $10 million dollar deal with the Magic. The Wizards cashed in. They get a good player and don't have to spend much on him.
