VC points to someone. Posted by Picasa
The Atlanta Hawks beat the New Jersey 104-102 in OT. Josh Smith hit a last second shot to put them by 2 with 4.9 to go and VC's three was in and out and the put back failed. Josh Smith ended up with 19 points and 9 boards in 38 minutes. Smith is good in crunch time and as he develops the Hawks know the can look to him when it counts. Joe Johnson had 19 points and 11 assists in 45 minutes. Johnson has been know to hit big shots but tonight he still played well. Al Harrington had 18 points amd 8 boards in 39 minutes. Harrington played hard but being a contract year you would think he would do everything better than usual but he's not. Jason Kidd had 19 points and 17 assists in 45 minutes. JKidd got it to his team with the extra effort because VC got hurt in the last game but he was still ready to go today. Nenad Krstic had 21 points and 8 boards in 42 minutes. Krstic is important because the Nets didn't get to the finals without Kmart being affective.

Kobe Bryant goes for a layup. Posted by Picasa
The Detroit Pistons beat the Cleveland Cavs 90-78. Big Ben Wallace was amazing with 11 points and 19 boards in 37 minutes. Ben would make a great play on one end then on the other side another good play it was great to watch. Chauncey Billups had 21 points and 8 assists in 35 minutes. Billups got the points and got his team the ball with 8 assists and doing both is important. Richard Hamilton had 18 points and 7 assists in 33 minutes. Hamilton was a good part of the great defense on LeBron and other teams should watch the tape and learn to D up on Bron Bron. LeBron James had 22 points and 9 boards in 38 minutes. Bron was getting the boards and the big's of the Cavs should make sure the guards doesn't get the boards 9 times. Ronald "flip" Murray got hot with 36 points and 3 steals in 36 minutes. He should start so LeBron has a starter to get the ball out of his hands.

Today ABC has one game and ESPN has another. First at noon today the Cavs face of with the Pistons in Detroit. Then at 7:30 Eastern the Lakers are at home against Boston.
AI looks to throw it up after a foul. Posted by Picasa
The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Chicago Bulls 108-102. Allen Iverson led the Sixers with 38 points and 5 assists in 46 minutes. Iverson really had to lead the Sixers who were without Samuel Dalembert (ankle) and Chris Webber (flu). Shavlik Randolph had 8 points and 13 boards in 33 minutes off the bench. He is the type of player the Sixers are looking for a role player who doesn't need the ball in his hands and he's got a great potential. Andre Iguodala had 20 points and 4 boards in 35 minutes. Iguodala has to be more aggressive and take a few more shots and try to blend better with Iverson. Kirk Hinrich had 13 points and 8 assists in 36 minutes. Hinrich has to start accepting the leader role and start to look to score around 20 a game. Malik Allen had 14 points and 8 boards in 23 minutes. Allen has to be consistent with these numbers so the Bulls can fill the big hole that was left when Eddy Curry got traded. Ben Gordon had 15 points and 3 boards in 35 minutes. Gordon is still not as good as he was last year maybe he should come off the bench again.

Kobe slams off of a Kings like backdoor cut. Posted by Picasa
The LA Lakers badly beat the Kings 106-85. LA looked like they worked over the break and now are really playing like a team. Kobe Bryant had 28 points and 10 boards in 36 minutes. Kobe needs to get around 10 assists every night so Odom can keep up the great play he's done over the last 2 games. Lamar Odom had 19 points and 9 boards in 45 minutes. Odom wow I can't begin to say how good he's been lately and if he gets these numbers all 2nd half of the season the Lakers could go farther than expected in the playoffs. Devean George had 15 points and 9 boards in 26 minutes. George has looked healthy coming back from a bad year last year and will a key veteran off the bench. Mike Bibby had 25 points and 5 assists in 40 minutes. Bibby has to play big for the Kings to stay close but maybe when Artest gets his stamina back the Kings can rely on him more. Ron Artest had 15 points and 7 assists in 43 minutes. Artest played good defense on Kobe but the Kings soon switched off and on with Kevin Martin and Francisco Garcia and kobe did what he wanted on them.

Today was the trade deadline and a load of not blockbusters went down. One of biggest trades was a four team deal with the Kings, Nuggets, Sonics and Blazers. The Nuggets got Ruben Patterson from the Blazers and Reggie Evans from Seattle and Charles Smith as a cap throw in. The Sonics picked up Earl Watson, Bryon Russell and a second round pick from Denver. Portland got Vitaly Potapenko's one year contract from Seattle and Sergei Monia of Portland. Also the Nets send Mark Jackson and Linton Johnson to the Hornets for Bostjan Nachbar. Another trade is Ronald 'Flip' Murray to the Cavs for Mike Wilks 500,000 in cash and a second round draft pick. The dealt rookie Gerald Fitch to Houston for Derek Anderson and possibly other players to be reported later. Phili got Lee Nailon and a second round pick out to the Cavs for one second round draft pick. ESPN did a great job reporting on the trades so watch ESPN and check the site for any other trades! If you ask me the winners in all the trades are the Magic and the Sonics both are dealing cap or getting better with their trades.
Carlos Arroyo goes for a layup. Posted by Picasa
The New Jersey Nets beat the Orlando Magic 96-93. The Nets big three did all the offense combing for 73 of 96 points. Jason Kidd had 28 points and 11 assists in 42 minutes. Jkidd needs to tell his coach to let more of the bench play so they don't rely on the big 3. Vince Carter had 22 points and 9 boards in 39 minutes. VC has to have a big half and carry the hot streak all through the playoffs. Carlos Arroyo had 13 points and 4 assists in 27 minutes off the bench. Arroyo should start over Dooling because he's a much more pure point guard than him. Keyon Dooling added 23 points and 6 dimes in 42 minutes. Dooling did get points but if Carlos would have been in he would have come up with a few more dimes.

The Orando Magic said good bye and good luck to Steve Francis when they sent him to the New York Knicks for young Trevor Ariza and what's left of Penny Hardaway's contract. The Magic are looking to rebuild again and made there second trade before the trade deadline on Thurseday at 3pm. Now the Magic will probably start newly added guard Carlos Arryo and use Ariza and Hardaway as bench players. I like this move for the Magic for two reasons one now they cleared a bit more cap space and two they have been putting team players around Dwight Howard so they can make him better and he can make them better. I don't like the deal for New York because now they have more cap added to the under 140 or so million they have to make a quick move to dump cap. Also the Knicks are deprarate to win and Thomas with add anyone that has a big contract to do it. Also the Magic wavied Bo Outlaw.
Odom goes for an easy slam. Posted by Picasa
The LA Lakers beat the Portland Trail Blazers 99-82. Lamar Odom was incredible with 20 points and yes 17 boards in 41 minutes. Odom got his own and needs 20 points every night also the boards would be nice. Juan Dixon had 16 points and 4 assists in 30 minutes. Dixon's just another great player on a bad team.

Kobe Shaq having some laughs! Posted by Picasa
The Eastern Conference All Stars beat the West 122-120. LeBron James was the games MVP with 29 points and 6 boards in 31 minutes. Bron Bron had a MJ type move where went up with one hand but then finished with the other hand. Flash had 20 points and 4 boards in 31 minutes. Wade was a bit sloppy but made up for it with points. Chauncey Billups one of four Pistons on bench had 15 points and 7 assists in 16 minutes. Billups and the other Pistons were huge in the 3rd period comeback. Shaquille O'Neal had 20 points and 9 boards in 23 minutes. Shaq was playing around and on a free throw he did an alley oop to himself that was a violation. Kobe Bryant had 8 points and 8 assists in 26 minutes. Kobe hit a great fade away to tie it at 120 but it wasn't enough. Tracy McGrady had 36 points and 2 assists in 27 minutes. Tmac was setup for the MVP by Kobe and others but couldn't make a shot to tie it again at 122. Tim Duncan had 15 points and 10 boards in 21 minutes. Duncan had great numbers for an All Star game.

Robinson is going for the slam. Posted by Picasa
Last bight was All Star Saturday and lots of things happened. First the Radio Shack shooting stars competion the Spurs team of Tony Parker, Steve Kerr and Kendra Wecker of the Silver Stars won in record time of 25.1 seconds. Next Flash took home the Playstaion skills competion and taking the crown from Steve Nash who didn't do that well. In the Foot Locker shootout 7 footer Dirk Nowitzki took home the trophy and was the first the Maverick to do so. Then was the fan favorite Sprite rising slam dunk. The competetors were Hakim Warrick a rookie from the Memphis Grizzlies, defending champion Josh Smith from Atlanta, Nate Robinson a rookie from the New York Knicks and Andre Igoudala or AI from the 76ers. Warrick's frist dunk was a backwards slam that scored him a total of 86 in the end of the first round. AI or Igudala first did a bounce to himself windmill that got him enough points to get to the second round. Nate Robinson or Spud Webb Jr.'s first dunk was a bounce to self high flying plane crash to get him to the next round. Last years champion Josh Smith put tape far back to jump form but didn't go near as far as the tape was. The next round was Nate Robinson and Andre Iguodala which had jaw dropping plays. Iguodala did an amazing play which had Allen Iverson throw it off the back of the backboard the had Andre go get it and go around for the dunk which was a 50. Spud Jr. had help Q-rich and got an alley oop and then did a nice windmill. Then Nate did a between the legs slam at less than 6 feet! Andre then bounced it then a behind the back in the air then jammed it home! Nate was incredible when he brought out Spud Webb to give him a bounce pass oop for an amazing jump over him for a slam. Igudala than put it between the legs then jammed it hard! Nate had to try the next dunk over ten times before he pulled of a crossover off the backboard dunk. Andre came back with running throw the backboard area slam that was the last dunk. After the first every need for a dunk off Nat Robinson won 141-140 over AI.

Westly dribbels on Bell. Posted by Picasa
Boris Diaw passes. Posted by Picasa
The Phoenix Suns blowout the Houston Rockets 109-75. Going into the All Star break the Rockets have to know mentally that there's a lot to finish when they come back and work harder. Steve Nash had 20 points and 8 assists in 30 minutes. Nash didn't have to do much in just 30 minutes but his passes were still on target like the one pass he could mess up he didn't. Raja Bell had 15 points and 10 boards in 38 minutes. Bell was a great pick up and during the first half of the season he has made the most threes out of any player. Shawn Marion had 16 points and 12 boards in 32 minutes. Marion is the most underrated player and should get some award at the end of the season. Boris Diaw had 14 points and 8 assists in 39 minutes. Diaw is one of the new types of big men in the league he's long big arms and is a points guard in forwards body. Stromile Swift h led the Rockets with only 13 points and 5 boards in 28 minutes. Swift tried to put in some points but it was to late for him to save the day. The Rockets were dreaming of the break and came up very short.

Mike Bibby drive inside. Posted by Picasa
The Sacramento Kings beat the Chicago Bulls 105-101. Mike Bibby was key in the win with 31 points and 5 dimes in 45 minutes. Bibby has to sit more but the way they are playing the stars have to give a big night for a win. Ron Artest had 27 points and 14 boards in 47 minutes. He's got to be a huge precense on defense for them to be thought as close in the playoff race. Kenny Thomas had 16 points and 13 boards in 37 minutes. Thomas has got to unite the team to be monsters on the boards and maybe if they got more offensive rebounding they would be better. Kirk Hinrich had 21 points and 9 assists in 43minutes. Hinrich's got to get his team in the playoff race quick if they want a chance. Ben Gordon had 30 points and 7 assists in 48 minutes. Gordon played hard and had to a lot of minutes but it wasn't enough.

Kobe drives on Devin Brown. Posted by Picasa
Bynum goes for a slam! Posted by Picasa
The LA Lakers beat the Utah Jazz 94-88. The Lakers played like a real team tonight getting 5 players in double figures. Kobe led the way with 23 points and taking away 7 steals in 36 minutes. Kobe got the Lakers going on defense with the steals and that got players like Smush Parker involved a lot more. Lamar Odom had 17 points, 8 assists and 9 boards in 44 minutes. Odom got his points it's about time. Kobe's got to get Odom getting 20 and the Lakers will be in the playoffs. Smush Parker had 16 points and 4 boards in 36 minutes. Parker got very into the game and it proved a team effort works. Sasha Vujacic had 7 points and 6 assists in 19 minutes. Vujacic could give a lift like that every night it would be a wonderful way to sit Kobe and still get good production. Devin Brown for the Jazz had 25 points and 3 boards in 35 minutes. Brown was great in the starting lineup he should stay there. Mehmet Okur had 18 points and 12 boards in 39 minutes. Okur fought for the boards and does a great job of it.

Flash shots the game winning shot over Prince. Posted by Picasa
The Miami Heat beat Detroit Pistons 100-98. Flash led the comeback in the 4th by getting offensive boards, slashing in the paint, hitting jump shots with 2.3 to go and getting stops on defense. The Pistons have now lost 9 out of 50 games and the losing is starting to pile up. Dwyane Wade had 37 points and 8 boards in 43 minutes. Wade Had to play a lot but it was worth as the Heat got a win against and elite team. Shaquille O'Neal had 31 points and 8 boards in 37 minutes. Shaq is getting back into shape and should be playing better after the All Star break. Gary Payton had 13 points and 3 boards in 31 minutes off the bench. GP won the veteran minutes from Pat Riley and got some points on the board. Chauncey Billups had 29 points and 10 assists in 41 minutes. Billups passed and played an all around game but couldn't get the shot up in the final seconds and had to pass the ball to Prince. Rasheed Wallace had 21 points and blocks in 44 minutes. Wallace got out on D like the Wallace's do but it's heartbreak for the Pistons. Richard Hamilton had 25 points and 5 assists in 39 minutes. Hamilton didn't play his best team game but the Pistons will bounce back very soon and start a winning streak.
