Today the ABA season will open up in Pittsburgh were the Pittsburgh Explosion face the Indiana Alley Cats at 7:00 eastern time. The Alley Cats had to replace the Florida Pit Bulls who coudn't make it because of hurricane Wilma. I like Pittsburgh in the game but think it will be close.
LET'S GO ABA!

The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Sacremento King 105-103. This was the last game of the preseason and was played in Las Vegas. Kwame Brown had 15 points and 7 rebounds in 28 minutes. He says he's fitting well with his new team and he is. I loved it when he showed he could run the floor, he stole the ball got to the hoop and earned a trip to the free throw line. Lamar Odom had 19 points and 7 rebounds in 34 minutes. Odom played a good game but still needs to relax into the triangle system. Kobe Bryant had 24 points and 4 rebounds in 28 minutes. Kobe had one amazing pass I want to tell you about. Kobe was in the paint three kings crowd him but Kobe saw Andrew Bynum near by and weaved a pass through the D over to Bynum for a easy shoot. Mike Bibby led the Kings with 20 points and 5 assists in 29 minutes. Bibby got beat up by the rough Lakers defense. Brad Miller had 15 points and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes. He did good I like his offensive rebounding skills they fit right in with the Kings. Peja Stojakovic had 13 points and 8 rebounds in 32 minutes. Bonzi Wells had 13 and 7 rebounds in 26 minutes. Wells fits well with this team it will be a great passing experience for him.

LAKERS MAKE STUPID DEAL!
The Los Angeles made a terrible trade to send Jumaine Jones to the Charlotte Bobcats for a 2007 second round pick. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE deal Mitch Kupchak needs a HARD slap on the face. All he cares about is saving money! I prase the Bobcats for making smart deals be trading draft picks away the have gotten three key players Kareem Rush, Jake Voskuhl and now Jumaine Jones
MAKE A GOOD TRADE FOR ONCE!
The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets traded away center Jamaal Magloire to the Bucks for Desmond Mason, 2006 first round draft pick and cash. I like the deal for both teams but more the Bucks because it's good to have a solid backup center for #1 overall draft pick Andrew Bougut. The Hornets got a reliable guard which can backup J.R. Smith and also play some small forward.
OLD FACE NEW PLACES!!
The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Utah Jazz 95-85. Kwame Brown had 3 points and a big help with 9 rebounds in 24 minutes. Lamar Odom had 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Kris Humphries led the way for the Jazz with 14 points and 4 rebouds in 26 minutes.
Tuesday, October 25, 2005
The New Jersey Nets beat the Boston Celtics 118-116 in overtime. Nenad Krstic had 16 points and 6 rebounds in 33 minutes. Krstic has turned out to be a great player. The Vince Carter trade is what got him a starting role. Vince Carter had 14 points and 4 assists in 24 minutes. Carter has really become the star player he didn't want to be in Toronto and now does the little things like pass. Jason Kidd had 9 and 6 rebounds in 24 minutes. Kidd will hopefully be healthy through the season and the Nets will be a premiere playoff club. Marc Jackson had 17 points and 9 rebounds in 30 minutes. I like Jackson coming off the bench for Krstic. He supplies more toughness than Krstic and more experience. The Celtics had 8 blocks to the Nets 4.
The New York Knicks beat the Philadelphia 76ers 80-71. Eddy Curry had 15 points and 9 rebounds in 22 minutes. Curry is fitting in well for the new and improved Knicks. I like his rebound abilites and you can't tell Curry had a heart problem last year. Trevor Ariza had only 2 points but added a big boost with 9 rebounds plus Ariza played 20 minutes. Matt Barnes had 13 points and 6 rebounds in 28 minutes. Quentin Richardson didn't play because of strained left hamstring. The Knicks had 32 turnovers compared to 76ers only 18. Lee Nailon was edjected and only played 4 minutes. Kyle Korver had 7 points and 8 rebounds in 42 minutes. Korver has improved a lot in his rebounding. That will be key for the 76ers. Allen Iverson didn't play with a knee injury. Chris Webber had 12 points and 8 rebounds in 34 minutes. Webber should be looking forward to a full year with the young but good 76ers. Louis Williams had 9 points and 4 steals in 22 minutes. This is good win to keep the Knicks spirit up but with the Answer out it was an easy win.
The Orlando Magic beat the Memphis Grizzlies 67-65. Pat Garrity won the game with a buzzer beater for the Magic. Dwight Howard had 8 points and 9 rebounds in 31 minutes. Hedo Turkoglu had 11 points and 6 rebounds in 30 minutes. Jake Tsakalidis had 8 points and 7 rebounds in 20 minutes. Dahntay Jones had 14 points and 5 rebounds in 34 minutes.
Monday, October 24, 2005
The Denver Nuggets beat the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets 97-93. This was the first game the Hornets played at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City. Andre Miller had 19 points and 10 rebounds in 32 minutes. Miller is doing good but I don't think all of the point guards will stay in Denver by the end of the year though. Earl Boykins had 16 points and 7 assists in 25 minutes. Boykins has been doing a bit of everything during the preseason. Nene Hilario had 13 points and 6 rebounds in 30 minutes. Nene is doing good but I think he will be signed and traded. Chris Paul exploded with 26 points and 10 rebounds in 36 minutes. I like Paul's game. He can score when he needs to but if he doesn't he can pass well.
SCORED THE GOLD!
The Cleveland Cavs beat Toronto Raptors 87-83. LeBron James had 22 points and 6 assists in 36 minutes. Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 19 points and 7 rebounds in 31 minutes. Chris Bosh had 9 points and 7 rebounds in 19 minutes. Rafael Araujo had 17 points and 8 rebounds in 20 minutes.
The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Charlotte Bobcats 98-97. Kobe Bryant had 25 points and 4 rebounds in 29 minutes. Kobe is doing okay right now during the season. I expect more assists in the games. Chris Mihm had a great night with 14 points and 11 rebounds in 28 minutes. He's doing pretty good also but this was his best game yet. Five of his rebounds were on the offensive end. Lamar Odom added a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in 30 minutes. Odom is doing great. He is responding well with Phil Jackson. Primoz Brezec for the Bobcats had 20 points and 14 rebounds in 40 minutes. He is a good player on the rise for the team. Raymond Felton had 12 points and 7 assists in 31 minutes. I love Felton's game. He has awesome passing skills. Kareem Rush had 14 points and 5 assists in 32 minutes. I think Rush fits great here. This a place were you can get good minutes.
Sunday, October 23, 2005
The New York Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs 96-90. Channing Frye had 19 points and 8 rebounds in 27 minutes. Jamal Crawford had 13 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds in 27 minutes. The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Milwaukee Bucks 89-85. Kevin Garnett had 25 points and a huge 15 rebounds in 30 minutes. Michael Olowokandi had 10 points and 7 rebounds in 23 minutes. Bobby Simmons had 10 points and 7 rebounds in 26 minutes. T.J. Ford had 6 points and 5 assists in 23 minutes.
The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Charlotte Bobcats 109-93. Kobe Bryant had 25 points and 3 steals in 25 minutes. Chris Mihm had 14 points and 6 rebounds in 21 minutes. Luke Ridnour for the Sonics had 5 points and 6 assists in 16 minutes. Nick Collison had 10 points and 7 rebounds in 25 minutes. Good game for both benches I like Nick Collison's rebounding improvement this year.
The NBA passed a dress code today that will be in place November 1st opening night of the season. The players will wear business casual
clothes. I can't believe that the NBA is doing this. David Stern is very restrtive.
NOW DRESS NICE!
Monday, October 17, 2005
LeBron James made his return from the hospital and joined the Cavs for practice Monday. LeBron said it was hard but went through the entire practice. But he is doubtful for the next game against the Grizz Wednesday. This is great for the Cavs. He should be fine for the start of the season.
KNICKS HOUSTON TO RETIRE!
The New York Knicks Allan Houston is due to announce his retirement today at an afternoon news conference. He played just 70 games through the last two seasons. The Knicks will miss Houston's shooting touch and his passing skills also.
In a special early morning game the Bobcats beat the Atlanta Hawks 94-88. The Bobcats only had 9 players so most of the players played a ton of minutes. Brevin Knight had 22 points and 7 assists in 33 minutes. Melvin Ely had a double double with 18 points and 11 rebounds in 31 minutes.

BOBCATS BEAT THE HEAT!
In a surprising victory the Bobcats beat the Miami Heat 82-72. Emeka Okafor had 16 points and 7 rebounds in 29 minutes. Brevin Knight had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists in 28 minutes. Gary Payton didn't play with a stomach virus. Dwayne Wade had 18 points and 5 turnovers in 30 minutes. Shaq had 9 points and 11 rebounds in 24 minutes. The Bobcats pulled off a great victory over the Heat. Brevin Knight played a good game. He rebounded, passed and scored.
MAGIC BLOW OUT HORNETS!
The Orlando Magic crushed the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets 101-83. Dwight Howard had 19 points and 9 rebounds in 24 minutes. He played a complete game and looks a lot better this season.
Keyon Dooling had 14 points and 3 steals in 30 minutes. He's a really good addition to the team's bench and he can give Steve Francis good breaks on the bench.
Jameer Nelson had 14 points and 4 assists in 22 minutes. His running game looks improved and he's still working hard on his jump shot. Jamaal Magloire had 13 points and 7 rebounds in 22 minutes. Chris Paul had 8 points and 5 assists in 23 minutes. He really needs to work on his jump shot and his passing needs a bit of work.
J.R. Smith had 5 points and 2 rebounds in 22 minutes. J.R. played a good game and his jumpshot has vastly improved for last season.
P.J. Brown had 10 points and 2 assists in 20 minutes.
This was a good game for both teams' benches. I like the Magic bench with Dooling and Jameer Nelson plus Garrity for the outside shooting. The Hornets need one solid bench player who gets 10 points and 6 rebounds and they would be better.
Saturday, October 15, 2005
Tonight I'm going to see some preseason ball at the St.Pete Times Forum. The Orlando Magic are hosting New Orleans/ Oklahoma City Hornets. Hope to you there! This game will be good. Both teams are pretty evenly matched. I want to see Chris Paul #3 1st round draft pick for the Hornets. I also want to see J.R. Smith for the Hornets.
76ERS BEAT CAVS!
The 76ers beat the LeBron less Cavs 100-98. The answer Allen Iverson had 30 points and 3 rebounds in 28 minutes. Kyle Korver had 11 points and 7 rebounds in 36 minutes. Larry Huges lead the way 15 points and 7 rebounds in 26 minutes. Drew Gooden had 6 points and 11 rebounds in 18 minutes. The Cavs won't have any great games until the King LeBron James comes back to rule.
SUNS BEAT SONICS!
The Phoenix Suns beat the Sonics 114-113. Raja Bell had 26 points and 7 rebounds in 37 minutes. James Jones had 18 points and shoot 3-8 for downtown and played 29 minutes. Ray Allen had 28 points and 3 assists in 32 minutes. Luke Ridnour had 18 points and 7 rebounds in 34 minutes. This must have been a fun game for the fans to see high scoring and less D!
In an unfortunate time the Hawks Jason Collier died from a possible cardiac arrest and on Friday he had called 911 about chest pains. The Hawks didn't have the scheduled workout today and haven't given any statement about his death. This is so sad for such a good player and a good man. I send my best to Collier's family and friends. God bless them.
Friday, October 14, 2005
The New Jersey Nets beat the Bobcats 95-76. Vince Carter had 8 points and 6 rebounds in 19 minutes. Jason Kidd had 10 points and 3 assists in 19 minutes. Antonio Meeking had 14 points and 9 rebounds in 23 minutes. This was a good game for the big three of the Nets and good for the bench of the Bobcats but both teams need some defense help mostly the Bobcats.
Thursday, October 13, 2005
Yes Darko Milicic got arrested Wednesday for driving with a suspended license. He posted $100 bond and a court date will be set in a few weeks. The incident happened in Detroit. This is very bad for Darko. It could mess up this season (if he plays) for him. Also any potential deals for shoes or anything else won't be very bright anymore.
DON'T GET IN TROUBLE!
Wednesday, October 12, 2005
The Grizzles beat the Bulls 86-82. Pau Gasol had 11 points, 4 rebounds in 18 minutes. Deng for the Bulls had 13 points and 6 rebounds in 25 minutes. This was a good game for Eddie Jones to fit in with the Grizz better.
The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 92-89. Andrew Bogut filled up the stat sheet with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in 27 minutes. Desmond Mason had 15 points and 5 rebounds in 29 minutes. Now for the Twolves who didn't have KG tonight. Eddie Griffin had 12 points and 7 rebounds in 29 minutes. Troy Hudson had 7 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds in 28 minutes. This was not a great game because the Timberwolves didn't have KG the MVP that's why they didn't win.
The Utah Jazz beat the Toronto Raptors 102-101 in overtime. C.J. Miles had 14 points and 2 steals in 15 minutes. Mehmet Okur had 12 points and 5 rebounds in 15 minutes. For the Raptors Tierre Brown possibly a new player lead the way with 24 points off the bench and 7 assists in 29 minutes. This game was great crunch time in the preseason wow!
The Lakers beat the Golden State Warriors 101-93 in hawaii. Kobe Bryant had 28 points, 5 rebounds and amazingly didn't shoot one three plus he played 27 minutes. Lamar Odom had 16 points, 5 rebounds and 1-3 for downtown. Also he played 27 minutes. For Golden State Baron Davis had 17 and 7 assists plus he played 24 minutes. This was not a good game for the Lakers. Despite the win Luke Walton hurt his hamstring and I don't know if he'll be 100% for the rest of the preseason and maybe the start of the season and he's a good passer that they would really miss.
GET WELL LUKE!
Tuesday, October 11, 2005
The New Jersey Nets hung on to a 105-103 lead after a layup to beat the Pacers. Jason Kidd had 6 points and 2 assists in 16 minutes. Vince Carter lead the way with 18 points and shot 7-10 from the free throw line in 19 minutes. Zoran Planinic had 14 points and 4 rebounds in 23 minutes. This was a great game and the bench players did great for the Nets and that's what gave them the advantage.
The Orlando Magic beat the Atlanta Hawks 104-93. Deshawn Stevenson had 15 points, 6 rebounds in 31 minutes. Steve Francis had 12 points and 6 assists in 24 minutes. Joe Johnson for the Hawks had 18 points and 7 rebounds in 39 minutes. Zaza Pachulia had 18 points also and 6 rebounds in 28 minutes. This game is just another block to these two teams rebuilding stages.
The Houston Rockets beat the Philadelphia 76ers 105-91. This was a close game with 21 lead changes and 14 ties. Tmac had 15 points, shot 0-3 at the free throw line and all in 20 minutes. Yao Ming had 19 points, 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. The Rockets had a steady game but I want to see how Stromile Swift fits into his bench role. Now for the 76ers Iverson had 23 points, shoot 8-14 from the field in 23 minutes. Andre Iguodala had 16 points and 5 rebounds in 27 minutes. I think the Sixers couldn't do it because they were short handed. They didn't have Chris Webber who had a right quad strain. Samuel Dalembert also did not play.
MIAMI HEAT WIN!
In a close game the Heat beat the Spurs 103-101 in the second preaseason game in Miami. Kevin Braswell hit a last second layup to win the game. Shaq had 17 points, 8 rebounds, shoot 7-11 in 22 minutes. Dwayne Wade had 18 points, 3 rebounds, shot 9-12 at the free throw line in 25 minutes. Antoine Walker had 20 points off the bench, 2 rebounds, shot 2-5 for downtown in 24 minutes. Gary Payton had only 2 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists, 1 steal in 17 minutes.
Now for the Spurs. Tim Duncan had 16 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and shot 4-4 for the free throw line. Manu Ginobili had 13 points, 1 rebound plus shot 1-3 from the three point line. This was a good start for the new players and they fit in with their teams. I think in the next game the Glove Gary Payton will shine instead of Antoine Walker.

The NBA preseason finally begins tonight with the Heat against the Spurs in the hurricane Katrina funding game and the Cavs against the Wizards. Go on www.NBA.com and listen to either game for free! The Cavs Wizards game just finished and I've got it all covered. In a blow out win the remade Cavs beat the Wizards 116-94. LeBron James chipped in 16 points, 3 assists and 4 steals in 25 minutes of play. Newcomer Larry Huges added 9 points, 3 rebounds plus 3 assists all in 23 minutes. The other newcomer Donyell Marshall had 8 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist in 18 minutes.
AHH THE NBA!
There have been lots of unfortunate injuries as the 2005 -2006 NBA season and I'm here to tell you all about it. The Pacers Jermaine O'Neal sat out practice with a right thigh bruise but thinks he'll suit up for Tuesday's preseason opener against Vince Carter and the Nets. Other Pacers Jeff Foster and David Harrison sat out scrimmages with injuries that don't seem to go away. Speaking of the Nets newly signed to a 2 year deal now has a strain in a muscle on his back and will be out for an unannounced amount of time. A new rookie the Golden State Warriors lottery draft pick Ike Diogu fractured his left hand during an action in training camp in Hawaii. Also a follow up to my report on Amare Stoudamire. He will undergo diagnostic surgery on his left knee and he is estimated to be out three or four weeks after the surgery.
GET WELL SOON!

STOUDEMIRE SITS OUT!
The Suns star big man Amare Stoudemire sat out practice with pain in his troublesome left knee. This is something the Suns have got to keep an eye on and make sure that he doesn't miss any games. Without Joe Johnson the Suns would rely on Nash and Marion and they can't do it all!
GET BETTER AMARE!!

SONICS RE SIGN REGGIE!
After playing the waiting game the Sonics re signed a top rebounder Reggie Evans to a 1 year contract. This was a great move. The Sonics are going to need all the help they can at center.
Tuesday, October 04, 2005
CURRY TO KNICKS!
The Chicago Bulls traded Eddy Curry and Antonio Davis to the Knicks for Michael Sweetney, Tim Thomas plus a 2006 first-round pick and two second-round picks. I think the Bulls got a bad deal. They should have kept Curry. The Knicks got a great deal trade, some bad contracts and get a good player but the draft won't be great for the Knicks.
The Houston Rockets got Rafer Alston for the Raptors for Mike James. This was done because Alston was tempermental in Toronto so it was a good verteran to take his place. I like Alston in Houston. It fits well with the other point guard Bob Sura.
Monday, October 03, 2005
Dwayne Wade is moving on up from a new deal with Converse to being on the cover of NBA Live 06 and now getting a new multi year Gatorade deal rumored to be worth $500,000 dollars. I like this move. I'm interested in Powerade's defense to this.
After a long wait Amare Stoudemire got a new five year extension worth about $75 million dollars. The contract has a 2009-2010 opt out option. This is the right move to lock up Amare he's the future of the Suns team.
Sunday, October 02, 2005
The Orlando Magic have decided to bring back Bo Outlaw and also signed 4 other players. Bo should be happy to be back at a place where he might actually play some minutes. The other players they signed were Terence Morris, Matt Freije, Ken Johnson and Felipe Lopez. These players may be good. I'm not sure I haven't heard of them so they better be great.
After 6 teams and 14 seasons of play Steve Smith has retired. Smith was a great player who I think should be known as a great crunch time player who can hit threes. I also think he will coach in his future out of the NBA.
Saturday, October 01, 2005
The Boston Celtics got Dan Dickau in a sign and trade for a second round 2006 draft pick. Dickau agreed to a new 3 year, 8 million dollar deal. This a good move for the young Celts.
